On August 19th, I experienced a layoff from Motive where 5% of the workforce was cut, totaling 251 employees. The engineering department was hit the hardest, losing 145 people. Specifically, the layoffs in engineering included 63 in QA, 23 in Backend, 19 in Frontend, 12 in AI, 11 in Mobile, and 17 in other areas. Geographically, the layoffs affected 88 employees in Pakistan, 41 in India, 15 in the US, and 1 in Canada. It was a tough day for everyone involved.
