I recently faced a frustrating situation regarding a Disney Marketing internship that I had hoped to secure. After graduating from college with high honors and receiving several strong recommendations, I was working in Guest Experience at a museum and dreaming of transitioning into a business role there. However, when the internship opportunity arose, I was disheartened to learn that it was awarded to someone over 30 with more than 10 years of experience. This individual had spent 7 years at the museum and 3 years elsewhere, which left me feeling like there was no chance for a recent graduate like myself to compete. It felt incredibly unfair, especially coming from a company like Disney. This experience has only added to my growing list of frustrating job search stories.
