I recently had a strange experience during an interview for a software engineering intern role at a startup. I applied through a cold email and was pleasantly surprised to receive a response within just 5 hours. The interview started off normally with introductions, discussions about my projects, and a review of my resume. However, at the end of the interview, the interviewer revealed something unexpected. He mentioned that he was a Full Stack developer himself, currently struggling to find a job due to his poor communication skills. To improve, he conducts fake interviews with candidates, pretending to be a recruiter. I was taken aback by this revelation and felt frustrated, especially after preparing thoroughly for the interview. While I can't change what happened, I reminded myself that at least my cold email got a response and I was able to revise my topics.
