I had an interview scheduled for a position I really wanted at a company where I have around 10 years of relevant experience. The interview was set for today, but when I tried to join via Google Meet, the link wouldn’t work. I reached out to the interviewer twice via email and even left a voicemail after struggling for about 30 minutes to connect. He is the National Director of Operations and had been very responsive in our previous communications, so I was really anxious when I didn’t hear back. After a few hours, he emailed me to say that the link had worked on his end, and he had waited for me for 10 minutes before leaving. He offered to reschedule for tomorrow morning, which I accepted right away. Now, I’m worried that I’ve made a bad first impression, even though I still have another chance. I’m trying to remind myself that my qualifications align well with the job, but I haven’t interviewed in five years, so my anxiety is pretty high. I’m hoping that the fact he was willing to reschedule means I still have a shot. I plan to test the link well in advance this time!
