I recently applied for a UX role and was really hopeful after reaching out to several contacts on LinkedIn. However, I received a surprising message back stating that the job offer was actually created by someone who hacked their account. They clarified that they aren't hiring for any UX positions at the moment. While it's disappointing, I have to admit that the creativity of the rejection was a bit refreshing compared to the usual generic responses or being ghosted. It seems like I'm not alone in feeling the pressure of the current job market.

I recently interviewed for a part-time behavioral interventionist position at Asteri Behavioral Treatment Center. After submitting my application, I received an acceptance just two days later, and then had a Zoom interview the following day. Now, I'm feeling a bit rushed since they only gave me one day to accept the offer. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this company or if it's a red flag to have such a quick turnaround.

I recently moved to the USA to pursue a master's degree, hoping it would lead to better job opportunities. After completing my studies during the COVID era, I managed to land a job, but today I was laid off along with several others. To make matters worse, I've learned that my former team is now being hired in India, which feels like a slap in the face. I left India in 2019 because the job market was tough, with only small businesses hiring and offering low salaries. Now, it seems like my college peer back in India has secured a position at my former company in the same domain I just got laid off from. It's frustrating and feels like I'm stuck in a cycle where I can't seem to catch a break.

This week, I had a phone interview with a major healthcare system in Ohio. I received an email from the recruiter asking to schedule the interview, which I did. However, the recruiter was 30 minutes late, so we had to reschedule for the next day. After that, I got another email stating that I wasn't qualified for the position, but the recruiter still wanted to proceed with the interview, which I found a bit strange. The actual interview lasted only about 2 minutes. They asked about my work location preference, and when I mentioned it, they informed me that there were no other roles available at that location and abruptly ended the call. I’m not sure if I should consider this a real interview, but it was scheduled as one. Can I count this as a job search activity?

I have an interview for a busser position at Las Palapas on Monday. I'm feeling a bit anxious because I really need this job, but I'm not sure what to expect during the interview. I'm looking for any advice or tips that could help me prepare, especially considering I have autism and might face some unique challenges. Any insights on what the interview process might be like or how to present myself effectively would be greatly appreciated.

I recently applied for an Operations Analyst position at PNC and went through two interviews that I felt went really well. The recruiter initially reached out to me after reviewing my resume, and I had a great first interview. The hiring manager even complimented my answers during the second interview and discussed what my potential day-to-day would look like on the team. She ended on a positive note, saying she hoped to speak with me soon, but mentioned she had more interviews to conduct and was going on vacation for a week. While she was away, the recruiter kept me updated, which I took as a good sign. However, after the hiring manager returned, I followed up and learned that the position had been put on hold indefinitely due to unforeseen internal circumstances. The recruiter mentioned it might be a couple of weeks before I hear anything further. My application still shows as 'Interviewing' in Workday, and while I'm continuing to apply elsewhere, I'm curious if anyone else has experienced a similar situation where a position was put on hold after multiple interviews. Did it eventually come back, or was it canceled? I'm also interested in hearing from recruiters or hiring managers about their thoughts on this scenario.

I recently resigned from my job at a boutique marketing agency due to a toxic manager. I had been there for 5 years and was laid off in 2024, but after a year of searching, I finally landed a great role with decent pay in the summer of 2025. Unfortunately, after a year, my manager changed and the new one treated me poorly, which severely impacted my mental health. I made the tough decision to resign in June and took a month off to travel overseas with my family, returning to Canada at the end of July. Now, I’m back on the job hunt and facing some challenges: the job market seems dry, and the wages offered are significantly lower than what I was making before. I regret quitting, but I know I prioritized my mental health. I feel out of touch with the latest trends in digital marketing and web/graphic design, and after my break, I’m struggling with brain fog and feel mentally sluggish. I need to find a source of income quickly, whether that means taking a full-time job or building up freelance clients, as I have some freelance experience. I don’t have a bachelor’s degree, just a higher diploma from about 5 years ago, but I do have around 7 years of experience in the field. I also still need to get my driver’s license. I have several questions: 1. How do I explain my decision to quit without a job lined up during interviews and move past my feelings of regret? 2. What can I do to regain my mental sharpness after my time off? 3. Given the current market with low wages, should I accept a pay cut for a full-time position or focus on freelancing? 4. What’s the fastest way to get back up to speed with current marketing and design practices? 5. Is pursuing an online degree while unemployed worth it, or will it just be a distraction? Are there any recognized and affordable options in Canada? Having climbed out of a lengthy job search before, I believe I can do it again, but I’m looking for direction and any honest advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently job hunting and came across a position at a furniture store that offers 100% commission pay. I had an interview, but I'm really unsure if this type of role is worth it. My main concern is the uncertainty of income; I don't want to end up working hard and not getting paid at all. I've heard mixed opinions about commission-based jobs, especially in furniture sales, where success can depend heavily on the company's marketing efforts rather than my own work ethic. I just want to secure a job quickly, but the idea of potentially earning very little or nothing at all is really daunting. Has anyone here worked in a similar role? What was your experience like?

I was laid off from my Social Media Marketing position five months ago, and since then, I've applied to around 250 jobs but only landed about 7 interviews. I felt really optimistic about my most recent interview, but I received a rejection today, which has left me feeling incredibly frustrated and hopeless. This is the first time I've faced such a tough job search, and it's disheartening. I've even considered switching careers, but I don't know where to start and I definitely can't afford to go back to school. It feels like I'm stuck in an endless cycle of interviews and rejections.

I applied for a part-time warehouse role at DPD on July 1st, and since then, my application status has remained at "new." I'm feeling a bit lost as I can't find any contact details for their recruitment or HR teams to get an update. I even tried reaching out to a couple of recruiters on LinkedIn, but one is on sick leave and the other hasn't responded yet. I'm wondering if the recruitment process has been frozen or if the position has already been filled. If anyone currently working at DPD has any insights, I would really appreciate it!

I recently interviewed with a company called Aventra Global, and their emails come from a domain named AventraWorld. They have several job openings, including Customer Support and Technical Support roles in different countries. So far, I've completed a written assessment and a video assessment, and everything seems to be progressing well. However, I can't find much information about the company online, especially reviews or details about the senior recruiter mentioned in their emails. She doesn't have a LinkedIn profile or any other online presence that I could verify. I'm reaching out to see if anyone has had any experiences with them, particularly if they've been hired and what their experience was like. I want to ensure I'm not getting involved with a scam before I move forward with any offers.

I recently received a call from a plant manager at Linde regarding a driver position I applied for. The manager, D, informed me that while there are no openings at the specific location I applied to, there are two positions available at another location. He encouraged me to reach out if I was still interested in pursuing a job with them. I'm feeling a bit hesitant, though. I'm currently employed in the utility field, working with propane, and I'm concerned about jumping from one potentially bad situation to another. I want to make sure that this opportunity is worth it before making any decisions.

I've been on the job hunt for the past week, applying to over 40 positions in my area through platforms like Indeed. Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck so far. My dad keeps insisting that online applications are a waste of time and believes I should go door to door to find work. This has led to constant arguments between us. I’m starting to feel frustrated because I know the job market has changed significantly since his time. People are telling me that going in person is outdated and that most employers expect online applications. It feels like I'm stuck between my dad's old-school advice and the reality of how job searching works today.

I have two interviews lined up for tomorrow for entry-level positions as a medical/front-desk receptionist. If I get an offer, this would be my first job, which is exciting! However, I have two prior commitments in August that were planned months ago, from the 13th to the 16th and from the 27th to the 29th. I'm unsure whether I should bring this up during the interviews. I’m leaning towards waiting until I receive an offer before mentioning it, especially when they ask about my preferred start date. Any advice on how to handle this?

I've been struggling to land a merchandiser or warehouse job despite applying multiple times to big companies like Coca Cola, Pepsi, and Red Bull. I've been at my current job for over 6 years, but it feels like I'm hitting a wall. I recently revamped my resume, but I still see others, like a guy who got a merchandiser position after bouncing between jobs, getting hired despite having been fired from a couple. I'm looking for any suggestions on how to improve my chances. I've heard that attending career fairs and networking might help, as I noticed many candidates not following application guidelines, which could be a good opportunity for those of us who do. I’m also considering reaching out to local Worksource or temp agencies for assistance.

I recently had a second interview for a claims representative position. The interview went well, and they mentioned that they would get back to me by the second week of August. If I get the job, I would start in September. During the interview, I was asked about my experience with Excel, and I admitted that I only used it a little in college. They reassured me that having some knowledge of Excel would be beneficial for the role. I'm feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety as I wait to hear back about the job.

I've been unemployed in my accounting career since September 2025, and I honestly never imagined I’d still be in this position. To keep the bills paid, I’ve taken labor jobs and other work outside my field. While I'm grateful to be working, it's incredibly frustrating knowing I have years of accounting experience and can’t seem to get back into the profession. I've applied to hundreds of positions, worked with multiple recruiters, and even applied to jobs in other states. I've reached out to former coworkers and managers, updated my résumé countless times, and followed up after interviews and applications. Yet, it’s been rejection after rejection or complete silence. I'm starting to wonder if something has fundamentally changed in the accounting job market, or if I’m just missing something everyone else seems to know. I'm not looking for sympathy; I just want to work in the field I’ve built my career in. Right now, it feels like I’m at my last straw, and I’m hoping someone has advice or a success story that might point me in the right direction.

I've been searching for a job for several months now, and it's been incredibly frustrating. I'm currently registered with a job center, and they tell me my CV is in great shape. I've been following all the advice I've received, and yet, despite doing everything right, I’ve only had three interviews in the last two months, none of which led to a job. I’m applying through various platforms like Indeed and the government website, and I’ve also reached out to recruitment agencies, but I rarely hear back from them. This whole process is mentally exhausting. I lack work experience because I had to drop out of university to take care of my mum and deal with my own mental health issues. I live in a small town in the UK, which limits my job options further, especially since I can't drive due to my eyesight and I rely on public transport, which isn’t always reliable. I'm currently on universal credit, receiving only £300 a month, which makes it really tough to get by. I'm reaching out to see if anyone has any tips or strategies that could help me stand out in my job search or speed up the process. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
